Protocentral Openview 2

Protocentral Openview is a visualization tool for signals from various Protocentral breakout boards and shields. It allows users to monitor and visualize vital signals in real time, making it easier to analyze data from different sensors. The Openview GUI is designed to be user-friendly and provides a simple interface for selecting the desired board and port, starting the data stream, and visualizing the signals on the screen.

Openview 2 is the revised new version of the previous Openview Processing-based GUI tool. Similar to Openview, Openview 2 can works across multiple platforms, including Windows, Mac, and Linux. It is built using Dart and Flutter, which allows for a more modern and responsive user interface and native performance across different operating systems.

Note

The Openview 2 is compatible with microcontrollers of higher speed like Arduino Uno R4 minima whose clock speed is 48MHz. Ensure you have a suitable microcontroller before using the openview 2 desktop to stream vitals of the respective break out boards.

Follow the below steps to setup the Protocentral Openview 2 and visualize the vitals on your screen:

  1. Download the Openview 2 based on your operating system

    Download the Openview 2

  2. Click the protocentral_openview_mobile.exe file, select the Port and the Board from the drop down. board selection

  3. Click on Start and the you can now see the vitals on your computer screen.
